As a demonstration project to explore a new model of Zhuhai-Macao cooperation under the principle of "one country, two systems", hengqin Port project, with a total construction area of 1.31 million square meters, integrates the functions of passenger inspection, transportation, office, business and apartment, and mainly covers three functional systems: port functional area, comprehensive transportation hub functional area, port comprehensive development and supporting facilities. After the completion of the project, the annual clearance volume is expected to reach 80 million person-times, which will replace the old Hengqin port and become the largest port directly connecting the mainland to Macao.
